Project Description

Exposure keratopathy is a common problem in critically ill patients and often encountered by trainees. We have noticed much variability in practice and observed medical and nursing staff are often unsure about preventative measures.

Exposure keratopathy is reversible, provided the insult is removed, but the condition can precipitate infection and permanent visual impairment.

Aim: to improve the eye care of patients admitted on ICU.

Study design: non-interventional, multicentric education improvement project

Population: adult patients admitted on ICU
